It’s been about 2 months since I’ve posted … nothing to my thread, nothing to the community support forum, and nothing in my role as a mentor.

On the one hand, I feel that I abandoned those newer members that I first reached out to, with the offer of support, comfort and guidance. On the other hand, well this healing journey is a long and bumpy road … and sometimes it feels unhealthy to write down and share my thoughts and feelings. Sometimes I know it’s unhealthy for me to even sit down and write. Other times I fear that everything I want to share contains a hideous emotional toxin, that would simply be cruel and wrong to spread throughout this community.

I have been doing many things to improve my own emotional health and stability and I have also been struggling with the values conflicts that ensue when one’s vision includes a life with a healthy partner.

I am ready, now, to return as an active member in this forum. I have so much to say, that I need to be mindful of being overwhelmed. I gotta go do some healthy things for me, write now … but I want every one here to know that I am OK and I am ready to give back to you. :g: :g:

Welcome back Minerva. You have been missed. :w:

Welcome back. :g:

Just a comment on 'going dark'. I have noticed there are multiple mentors and coaches that appear to no longer be here. I have assumed they have either moved on or taking a break from such intense subject matter - either seem perfectly good choices to make. I know I take breaks from reading and writing here when I need to. Also, I look at coaches and mentors as fellow travelers on this unfortunate path, so I don't worry when people don't check in as though the "leaders" are away, as we really are all on our unique journey. (And I don't always agree with everything the coaches and/or mentors believe or say anyway....) All that said though, I enjoy reading your contributions and am glad you are back. :g:

Hi Minerva,

I am also totally guilty of this as well, but it's natural when dealing with social or support services. I know I've had a lot of struggles lately, and it's been very difficult to post as a Coach!

Remembering to put my own needs above my personal expectations is important for me. It's a process. :w:

Yes, it is important for us all to take care of ourselves first. It's like the airplane safety manual analogy--we have to make sure we have our oxygen mask securely in place before we can turn to help others with theirs! If you notice yours slipping off--by all means take some time to get it back on! Your contributions are always welcome, never expected or taken for granted (I am speaking directly to our mentor and coach, but also to our regular contributors).

Be well.
