So... I'm going to try these lessons and this site and see how it goes. I've been addicted to pornography and masturbation off and on for almost twenty years, and am really, really ready to end it. My username is God's Rose because I am His, and my friend says I am like a rose--beautiful, but easily hurt, and with thorns that can prick. My addiction is one of many thorns I want to purge, for so many reasons.

On to lesson one. :)

Hi God's Rose
and welcome to RN
if you really do want to improve your life and to recover from your addiction then you are at a good place to make that wish reality

not the most positive of comments is it? !D !D
Commit , fully and completely
work through the lessons and UNDERSTAND them ,
Make what you get out and learn from them a major part of your life, let the community and your part in it help to partially fill the void when addiction is left behind, and it will be if you want it enough
if you miss something ask on the help forum , assistance is always on hand
coaches and mentors are likely to drop by occasionally but if not, don't worry as this is generally a good indicator that you are on the right path

the path is long and difficult but it is well proven and you are not alone
we usually suggest completing about 3 lessons a week but spending time every day posting and reading

I would suggest in the "off" periods you have been in abstinence not recovery

get to know your addiction and see yourself with honesty and openness, peel back those layers, you might not like what you find but find it you must, no excuses, simply strive for that recovery

remember to work at your own pace and its not a race indeed some consider recovery to be a journey rather than a destination

remember the only person that can make these changes is you, so the hard work needs to come from you
looking forwards to reading your posts and wishing you all the best

Thank you so much for your advice and encouragement. =) I hadn't found the time to do the lessons yet, but I am going to force myself to now. Thank you again! :)
