Hello, everyone,
We are US citizens and currently reside there; however, we just found out yesterday that we are most likely going to be stationed in Europe (Germany--don't want to give any more location details) come July.

H and I have talked about my concerns about him finding another group, and he has said he would do so. I'd also like to find a women's group if possible.

Does anyone know where we can find a list of any SA groups and spouse support groups in Germany or are any of you overseas and aware of them? If so, could you PM me with some information or list it here? Are any of the churches having religious groups (we would prefer this, but not necessary). I have done some internet searching but am not really sure where to start looking and I get many questionable websites on my searches..googling "Germany" and "Sex addiction support" does not always bring up appropriate sites, haha. We would be living off post, but would like to be able to find something English-speaking, as our German right now is very limited to basic greetings and such. I do intend on learning the language.

Thanks!

Hi Kitten,

I'll try to dig up some info next week for you if I can ok. I'm on a quick holiday visiting my daughter, so will dig around once I am back home.

I don't live in mainland Europe, I'm in Ireland, but I can cast the net a bit and see whats available. As far as I know, there should be some groups, however the language might trip you up for those. Obviously it depends on where abouts you'll be living. As always, bigger cities have more access to these things.

Can you bump the thread or drop me a PM next week to remind me please ? Assuming I'll be jet-lagged and such, I probably will forget if this thread moves down the page too much! :s:

Hugs
Starry

Thank you so much! I will do that. I really appreciate it.

We will be in a fairly sizeable city/metro area (I will include more info in the PM). We should actually find out today or Monday if we will be going there for *mostly* sure. (Everything in the US military is never more sure than "mostly" sure, lol).

If we are, we do plan on learning the language--in fact, we are going to start ahead of time, DH has a program online, I can't remember the name of it but it's a good one, and we plan on starting next week if we find out today we are going. I know we won't be ready to converse fully by July, but hopefully within a year or year and a half we can speak decently if we are immersed in the language/culture for a good portion of that. Or perhaps we could find an English speaking group, which would be great. We are planning on living off base so that we get more of the full experience and language immersion as well--sink or swim, so we have to learn, right? :)
